Eric is a Certified Full Instructor in Jeet Kune Do/The Filipino Martial Arts under Rick Manente (2002), and is also one of a Certified Executive Instructor (CEI) of Progressive Fighting Systems (PFS) under Paul Vunak (2006).

Eric Wnek's interest in the martial arts began at the young age of six when he began formal study in the Martial Arts. But Eric began to explore other styles such as Boxing, Wing Chun Gung Fu, Thaiboxing, Kali, Etc. More importantly, Eric had discovered that he wanted to turn his love for the Martial Arts into his life's work.
 
Eric began studying Jeet Kune Do at the age of 14.  When Eric was 17, he decided to visit a school he had been hearing about, the Connecticut Martial Arts Academy. He then began studying Jeet Kune Do under the guidance of one of Paul Vunak's top students, Senior Full Instructor, Rick Manente. Eric began traveling extensively with Rick for seminars and JKD demonstrations. One of the major highlights - setting up a seminar for Paul Vunak to come out to Connecticut in 2001! Eric later achieved the rank of Full Instructor in Jeet Kune Do and The Filipino Martial Arts in April of 2002. 
 

During these years training with Rick, Eric quickly realized that he had a gift for teaching the street-oriented side of JKD, but saw that each person had their own interests where Martial Arts and fighting were concerned; so he began to build programs suited toward those different interests.

Eric continues to produce videos and instructional DVDs; to date he has over 12 videos available.

One of the most important objectives of Elite Jeet Kune Do LLC is to promote the worldwide expansion of Jeet Kune Do and the Filipino Martial Arts. Eric also demonstrates an undying loyalty to the man who was given the task of carrying on Bruce Lee's art, Dan Inosanto (the only living man certified by Bruce to teach Jeet Kune Do, others were certified in Jun Fan Gung Fu). Most vital, perhaps, for Eric and his organization is to provide the means for students to grow and develop, not just physically, but also mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. By pursuing these ambitions, Eric hopes to ensure that Bruce Lee's contribution to the Martial Arts and to humanity will never be forgotten.
